Press Bio

Joanna Gentry has a recurring role on Days of Our Lives and General Hospital, two of TV’s biggest soap operas still existing. She recently Co-Starred, as Jenn, on The Bold and The Beautiful. Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky where she started modeling professionally at the age of 15. After graduating from the Alix Adams Modeling School & Agency, she later signed with MJK Studio Modeling and Talent Agency. During her time at the two agencies, she has booked many commercials, runway shows, industrial films and print campaigns for clients such as: Coors Light, Visionworks, Ice Breaker Gum, Harley Davidson, KFC, The Gap, Seventeen Magazine, The Limited, The Kentucky Derby, Courier Journal and several regional department stores…just to name a few.

Joanna studied Business Management at the University of Louisville. She decided to take a non-prerequisite theatre class. And it was then when she was bitten by the acting bug.

 

Shortly after her move to Los Angeles. Joanna studied at Baron Brown Studio formerly named the Joanne Baron/D.W. Brown Studio for Performing Arts in Santa Monica under the direction of Joanne Baron. She is a graduate of their extremely in-depth two-year Meisner program where she learned at a high level how to create characters based upon the truth of the human condition.

 

She also continued to perfect her craft in commercials by training with the late great

Carolyne Barry at the award-winning Carolyne Barry Acting Academy.

Joanna is currently represented by one of the most respected and reputable commercial agencies in Los Angeles. She has been blessed with booking many national, regional commercials and over 30 print campaign advertisements for clients such as: Walgreens, Kmart, Ford, Bush's Baked Beans, Effexor, AARP, Blockbuster, Discovery Channel, Yahoo, T Mobile and California Credit Union...again, just to name a few. She has enjoyed being cast as the leading role in several Industrial films.

 

She was cast as Mrs. Brent in “A Stolen Life” aka Deadly Lessons directed, written and produced by Michael Feifer for the Lifetime Movie Network. Joanna plays a nurturing concerned high school Algebra teacher of a struggling teenage female student. When on the first day of class Mrs. Brent is beyond shocked when she sees how much the struggling student resembles the kidnapped daughter of her best friend, Tamara.

 

Joanna will continue to be grateful for her time and accomplishments in Hollywood as she persists in the pursuing of her dreams. She is also the Founder and Executive Beauty Specialist of CMG Women of Beauty. CMG is a female beauty empowering company that helps women live the most beautiful version of themselves by teaching beauty skills, techniques, modeling and fashion knowledge. During her down time, she enjoys interior design, jazz music, ice skating, reading, gourmet cooking and of course, the Los Angeles sunshine.
